Central and North Burnett Times - - LOCAL SPORT -

A SMASHING performance by North Burnett’s cricket juniors has showed plenty of promise for the upcoming season.

The North Burnett Under-12 primary school representative team defeated Maryborough in a 50-over match at the Wide Bay trials on September 16-18 at Maryborough.

Bailey Griffin scored a majestic 52 in the win. The boys also played South Burnett in a 50 overmatch, and two Twenty20 games over the three day trials but couldn’t repeat their success.

Manager Liam Dougherty said he was pleased with the performance of the team.

“All players demonstrated great improvement over the three days,” he said.
