Dancers learn from the expert
DANCE fever has hit Gayndah’s AOG Church.
Every Monday night a dedicated group of movers and shakers learns a variety of dances from the North Burnett’s own Lord of the Dance, Nigel Reed.
Mr Reed has been teaching dance for 15 years and has brought his knowledge of the cha cha, rumba and foxtrot to the people of Gayndah.
Mr Reed teaches three dances in a night, taking 45 minutes per session.
Other dances taught include the salsa, merengue and rock’n’roll.
“The emphasis is on having some fun and learning some dance,” Mr Reed said. “There are no complicated patterns. The guys can lead the steps in any order they like.”
“Everyone has been doing a great job.”
The dancing starts at 6pm on Monday evenings, costing $10 a dance or $20 to learn all three. To join the fun, contact the AOG church on 4161 1713.
