From the Mayor's desk

Central and North Burnett Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

THIS weekend is busy across the region and raises the question of organising an events calendar to put in concrete dates used regularly.

On the council webpage is an events calendar which can be assessed by all. Anybody wishing to include a date can lodge an application at any council office.

The staff ensure it is included and will inform you if the date is utilised and in what location.

I congratulate the Mulgildie community on organising the Bunyip Festival in conjunction with the Mulgildie Rodeo and recognise the effort by Cr Paul Lobegeiger.

The display of cars, bikes and tractors was excellent and the Bunyip Pie Competition was a great drawcard. I look forward to it being a regular event.

The great talent across the region in the arts world is excellent and reflects scenes and activities. I made an offer to display the works of these artists in the Council Chambers and I would like some in my office as well.

Sue Lederhose brought some paintings in to the Gayndah office and they will be hung in the main office and in my office. I welcome all contacts.
