SECOND time shooter Brandon Eisel scored a Robin Hood when he shot his arrow into fellow club member’s arrow in the A zone on a target. TERRIERS played well to defeat Run Arounds 5-2 in the last round of darts played at the Grand Hotel at Biggenden. In other games, All Sorts d Rug Rats 5-2, The A Team d 4 lay 4-3 and Commercial Goodies d One Day 4-3. Most tons for the night went to Peter Keir on a countback with three (100x2,125) and Janet Wall with two (100,120). Most peg outs were thrown by Dave Maxwell with five (4,38,10,28,50 bull finish) and Coral Sengstock on a countback with three (40,28,2). Highest score was thrown by Sean McGeough with 140 and there were none thrown by the women. Highest out went to Leo Taticek with 85 bull finish and Beth Stralow with 50. SIXTEEN teams have nominated for this weekend’s two-day men’s fours carnival at the Biggenden Bowls Club. Teams from Moore Park, Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Gympie and the Central Burnett region will be vying for the $2200 in prizemoney.
LAST Saturday Binjour Bowls Club hosted its annual Pork Daywith players travelling from Gayndah, Biggenden, Maryborough, Bargara, Gympie, Kandanga, Goomeri, Tansey, Taroom, Mundubbera, Monto and Miriam Vale to compete. 16 teams took to the green to compete for ham and bacon trays and enjoyed a pig on the spit with all the trimmings. The Bargara team Rob Alder, Noel Ahern, Mark Ram and John See took out the major prize with three wins plus margins totalling 43. Runners up were Kevin Putney, Ashley Harris, Andrew McLeod and Peter Bennett of Gayndah with three wins plus margins totalling 31. Round 1 went to Ray Horne and his team from Gympie, Round 2 to Garry Price and his team from Monto and Round 3 to Eric Ferris and his team from Miriam Vale.

The Monto teams tried hard but were soundly beaten at the end of the day 79 shots to 51. The picture was a little different after 11 ends of each game as Monto was only behind by 8 and leading in two rinks. The possibility of a huge upset disappeared however over the remaining ends.
