Jessie throws Mulgildie on map

MULGILDIE State School’s Jessie Mo­scrop has been se­lected to rep­re­sent Wide Bay in the State School Ath­let­ics Cham­pi­onships in Cairns this week­end.

The 10-year-old is com­pet­ing in dis­cus and said she was ex­cited, as she had never been north of Biloela. She trav­elled by road with her par­ents this week and ar­rived in Cairns on Tues­day.

Mo­scrop at­trib­uted her sport­ing suc­cess to her fam­ily and hard work.

“My fa­ther was a good thrower,” she said. “But I train ev­ery day.”

When she is not com­pet­ing, Mo­scrop will spend her time sight­see­ing, swim­ming and dis­cov­er­ing the rain­for­est.
