Gayndah SS turning 150
HISTORY of Gayndah State School’s 150 years will be showcased in a limited edition book.
The hardcover book is being compiled to celebrate next year’s 150th anniversary of the school, and will feature a page for each year’s school photos as well as a synopsis of that year.
Principal Ken Nichols said he was looking forward to having a comprehensive chronicle of the school’s past.
“It will be amazing,” Mr Nichols said.
“It is filled with photos and information from our archives.”
Head of Curriculum Leah Trott said the school was in the process of gathering all its history.
She said only 450 copies would be printed, and the school would take pre-orders.
“We have the opportunity for people to pre-order, and they will receive their own personalised page in the book,” she said.
The book will be launched on the same date as the school’s 150th anniversary on October 12, 2013.
