IGA store raises cash

SHOW your true colours and wear pink for a worthy cause. IGA Monto is.

They have dedicated the month of October to the Chicks in Pink breast cancer cause.

Last week employees Sharon Hanley and Natalie Pointon were stationed outside the store raising funds for the campaign.

Funds were raised through a sausage sizzle, sales of items including pink swimming goggles as well as tickets in the IGA pink hamper raffle.

Ms Pointon said shoppers could also add an extra $1 to their shopping bill which would be donated.

In three days Ms Pointon raised almost $1500, but said the total store tally was still unknown.

A representative from the store said IGA was “just happy to support a charity”.
