MUNDUBBERA businesses lastweek received a visit from the police.

But their purpose was not to investigate crimes.

Police officers Shaughan Lanham and CamMosley delivered business security packages, chatted with business owners and staff, and updated contact details.

“The packages were provided to all businesses within Mundubbera as an information tool for business owners, managers and staff in relation to general business and premises security and cash han- dling,” Sgt Lanham said.

“We also took the opportunity to get contact details for situations where we may need to get in touch outside normal trading hours.

“Offences aren’t on the increase – we are just trying to reduce incidences,” Sgt Lanham said.

“A check of recent occurrences identified the main causal factors in relation to property offences involving businesses were the security of the premises and cash handling so we’re taking preventative action.”
