Monto community thanks

Central and North Burnett Times - - OPINION -

AS THIS will bemy last article to you as Monto’s community development officer, Iwould like to thank you all for your support over the past few years.

I have enjoyed supporting and assisting in the developing of our community and our region, but mostly I have enjoyed working with (and for) the people that live in our community and re- gion.

It has been a huge honour. Kevin Fox will be replacing me as Monto community development officer. Kevin will be commencing in mid-November, so please introduce yourselves to him and his family.

I will leave you with a quote from Lao-Tzu Toa Te Ching, which I firmly believe is the key to community development: “Learn from the people, plan with the people, begin withwhat they have, build on what they know. When the task is accomplished, the people all remark, ‘we have done it ourselves’.”
