QGC’s One Team stands down for safety

Central and North Burnett Times - - SCHOOL NEWS -

To provide an opportunity for our One Teammembers to focus on and stay committed to safety there was a hour-long One Team safety stand down on Thursday 13 September. During this time teams simultaneously stopped work and discussed the injuries or incidents they had in their working environment and how these could have been prevented using the Life Savers and what each individual will do differently in future to ensure an improvement in safety. More than 7,000 of QGC’s staff and contractors stopped work across the 30,000 square kilometres of activity for one hour. Stand-downs took place at more than 40 field locations across the Surat and Bowen basins, the QCLNG pipeline, Gladstone, Curtis Island, Thailand yards and a further 20 locations in Brisbane. The leadership team in QGC is resolute that the requirements of schedule and cost will not be put ahead of safety. As a result of the safety stand down One team members are clear about our safety expectations and all fully understand and accept personal accountabilities.
