Weed field day looms

Central and North Burnett Times - - RURAL UPDATE -

A FREE Lan­tana, Madeira Vine and Cat’s Claw Creeper Con­trol Work­shop in­clud­ing field demon­stra­tion on splat­ter gas guns is be­ing held at Coal­stoun Lakes Community Hall on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 14.

The Depart­ment of Agri­cul­ture, Fish­eries and Forestry and DOW AgroS­ciences will present the work­shop and at­ten­dees will be of­fered a pre­sen­ta­tion on Lan­tana, Madeira Vine and Cat’s Claw Creeper by DAFF Na­tional WoNS co-or­di­na­tor Kym John­son.

DOW AgroS­ciences ter­ri­tory sales man­ager Nick­Koch will also have a pre­sen­ta­tion on the use of chem­i­cals for the con­trol of lan­tana.

Par­tic­i­pants will be of­fered the op­por­tu­nity to view a field demon­stra­tion of an NJ Phillips Splat­ter Gun.

The work­shop runs from 9am–2pm.
