Mobros out in force
North Burnett’s generosity goes on show again
MONTO’S generosity has come out again this month for the Movember men’s health campaign.
The town’s male population has rallied together and supplied 35 participants for the campaign.
IGA Monto team co-ordinator Natalie Pointon said the IGA contingent of 34 men had raised funds through selling raffle tickets and would have a sausage sizzle outside the store today from 11am to 1pm.
There will also be a cricket match at the Monto sports field on November 30 with a barbecue, licensed bar and music.
Ms Pointon said she was impressed with the community spirit shown by the town, and encouraged more people to support the cause.
“I am very happy with the response to date, and if anyone wants to donate, they can come and buy a raffle ticket,” she said.
A smaller but no less enthusiastic team has been assembled by accounting firm Accounting and You.
Len Felesina is the team captain and sole Monto representative. Rhys Giles and Ryan Harth are also participating from the Biloela office.
“We decided to join because we all know someone with health problems,” Mr Felesina said.
“This is just to raise general awareness.”
The firm will have a donation point at its office at 41Newton St, Monto.
