Volunteer’s efforts awarded

Central and North Burnett Times - - SES WEEK 2012 -

GAYNDAH State Emergency Service (SES) volunteer John Lamb will be awarded for his invaluable contribution to the service.

Mr Lamb will receive the award in Gympie on Saturday, as part of SESWeek activities.

His dedication was on display recently after a freak storm tore through Gayndah, as he assisted in putting tarpaulins over houses and cleaning up the substantial damage.

Serving for eight years in the local SES, Mr Lamb has previous experience in the Eidsvold SES and marine rescue.

Gayndah SES Captain David Wilson said Mr Lamb was “really deserving” of the award.

“He is involved with pretty much everything we do,” Mr Wilson said yesterday.
