COMPETITORS were bowled over at the Alice Spring Masters Games by Gayndah tenpin stars Ric and Tanya Vanoosten.

The duo each won 12 tenpin bowling medals at the masters, held late last month.

Known as the Friendly Games, the Masters Games are held every two years and draws Australian athletes over 35 to compete in a range of sports.

Ric won four gold medals, five silver medals and three bronze medals.

He was outdone only by his wife, Tanya, who won six gold medals, three silver medals and three bronze medals.

And the three-day journey to Alice Springs is nothing new for the duo after winning eight medals each at the 2010 games.

“We will be going back in 2014 to defend our gold title in the Restricted Masters,” Tanya said.

“We drive to Bundy every three weeks to bowl and get practice.

“Any sponsorship towards the costs would be greatly appreciated.”
