SES WEEK 2012
Get behind your local group.
WITH eight active members, the Biggenden State Emergency Service (SES) Group is trained and ready to go at a moment’s notice.
Their main purpose is to remind people the storm season has hit the area and to be prepared and stock up on emergency supplies.
This year their motto is “not what Biggenden does for me but what can I do for Biggenden”.
Biggenden is only a small town in numbers but as shown in the past, it has a town full of big hearted generous people.
This week the community will celebrate with members who have earned citations and medals for their dedicated work within the SES. These will be presented to all relevant members at Gympie on Saturday.
Biggenden have a similar number of people in its support group. These wonderful volunteers give of their time to make sure those members on the front line are supported with food and any other supplies needed.
This is a vital role and the Biggenden SES Group would like to give a special thank you to these members.
■ Anyone 16 years and over who would like more information about joining the SES can contact local controller Kerry Rae on 4127 1258 or secretary Chris Fisher on 4127 1196.
