THIEVES were chased from Gayndah’s bakery before they managed to steal anything.

The attempted robbery took place about 10pm on Tuesday, November 13.

Three offenders entered the bakery through the rear door and were caught in the act by baker and owner Michael Eisle.

The offenders then ran out the back door, with a charity jar full of donation money for Mr Eisle’s Movember fundraiser.

But the thieves dropped the jar before they could make their great es- cape.

“One left their jacket behind and one of them turned around as he was running away, so Michael got a good look at him,” bakery owner Tanya Eisle said.

“Michael was upstairs and came down and chased them off. “They were teenagers. “They were old enough to know better. “It feels like we’ve been invaded. “We shouldn’t have to protect our own property.”

Gayndah Police Sergeant Lucas Hampson said“we knowwho they are”.

“We have identified the three offenders,” he said.
