Robertson blitzes district records
THE District Swimming Carnival between Gayndah State School and St Joseph’s Primary took place last Tuesday.
Gayndah State Schoolwon the Mellor Shield for most points scored.
The school also took out the National Australia Bank Equity Award for the team with the most aggregate points.
Age champions were Mitchell Baker, Callum Evans, Tori Roth, Ella Darlington, Grace Robertson, Karl Elsebach, Bree Robinson and Riley Drayton.
Bree Robertson was the star of the day, breaking two longstanding records in butterfly and backstroke.
Robinson smashed the 50m butterfly for the under-12s by more than a second.
The record had been un- touched for the past 10 years.
The record for 100m backstroke had also been untouched for 14 years until Robinson crushed it by 2.12 seconds.
The North Burnett District Swimming Carnival will take place tomorrow at Mundubbera.
