Robert­son blitzes dis­trict records

THE Dis­trict Swim­ming Carnival be­tween Gayn­dah State School and St Joseph’s Pri­mary took place last Tues­day.

Gayn­dah State School­won the Mel­lor Shield for most points scored.

The school also took out the Na­tional Aus­tralia Bank Eq­uity Award for the team with the most ag­gre­gate points.

Age cham­pi­ons were Mitchell Baker, Cal­lum Evans, Tori Roth, Ella Dar­ling­ton, Grace Robert­son, Karl Else­bach, Bree Robin­son and Ri­ley Dray­ton.

Bree Robert­son was the star of the day, break­ing two long­stand­ing records in but­ter­fly and back­stroke.

Robin­son smashed the 50m but­ter­fly for the un­der-12s by more than a sec­ond.

The record had been un- touched for the past 10 years.

The record for 100m back­stroke had also been un­touched for 14 years un­til Robin­son crushed it by 2.12 sec­onds.

The North Bur­nett Dis­trict Swim­ming Carnival will take place to­mor­row at Mun­dub­bera.
