Abercorn leaders look to future
Confidence lifts students to next step
ABERCORN State School’s Year 7 students have reached a crossroads of their school lives.
But as they look towards the daunting prospect of entering high school, the school captains have a positive outlook.
Kelvin Cooper and Alecia Rigg said they both enjoyed their Abercorn State School years but were looking forward to the upcoming holidays.
“They were happy years in primary school so I am sad in some ways to be leaving but in other ways happy to be moving on to high school,” Kelvin said.
“I enjoyed my Abercorn State School years and I feel happy and sad to be leaving,” Alecia said.
Alecia will be going to Monto State High School and Kel- vin is likely to go to either Monto High or Rockhampton.
Both agreed their best memories of primary school were camps to places including Canberra, Brisbane and Longreach.
Abercorn is a one-teacher school with a total enrolment of 21 students.
