Prices lower at Mur­gon

THE mar­ket for the 500 head yarded at Mur­gon on Tues­day was slightly eas­ier than the pre­vi­ous week.

Cat­tle were con­signed from Eidsvold, Mun­dub­bera, Mt Perry, Gayn­dah, Ban Ban Springs, Kin­garoy, Nanango and lo­cally.

Grain-as­sisted steers weigh­ing 355kg from MK Cat­tle, Mur­gon, sold for 192c/ kg to re­turn $1009 and 211c for $741 while 317kg grain as­sisted heifers from Goodger sold for $603 or 190c.

Brah­man steers weigh­ing 412kg sold for 188c to re­turn $776 for the ven­dor.

Four-tooth drought-master-cross heifers from Stonelands sold for $807 or 163c while 500kg santa-cross heifers, also four-tooth sold for $802 at 158c.

The best of the cows sold to $937 at 144c with Char­bray cows from Gayn­dah sell­ing for $790 or 142c.

Cows in the 450 to 500kg range sold mainly from 135c–140c.

Bran­gus steers weigh­ing 500kg from Mur­gon sold to feed­lot op­er­a­tors for $899 or 177c.

Bran­gus steers, ac­count R and D War­ren, Mon­dure, sold for $762 at 182c for 418kg.

Drought­mas­ter-cross from A and K Zerner, Moon­dooner, weigh­ing 350kg sold for $629 or 179c.

L Smith sold 253kg santa steers for $485 at 191c while 377kg char­bray steers ac­count Mand M Laughton, Mof­fat­dale, sold for $687 at 182c.

J and B Zill­man, Gayn­dah, sold santa-cross weaner steers for $501 at 182c, $469 at 205 and $447 at 203.

Char­bray weaner steers from Eidsvold sold for $519 at 194c.

Sim­men­tal weaner steers from Stone lands sold for $477 at 202c.

Char­bray heifers from P and P Rick­etts, Mof­fat­dale, sold for $616 at 170c.

Braford heifers weigh­ing 370kg from Mur­gon sold to $633 or 171c.

Santa heifers weigh­ing 264kg sold for $468 or 177c to Dalby buy­ers.

They also bought 226kg santa heifers from Wondai for $403 or 178c. San­tacross weaner heifers ac­count the Zill­man fam­ily sold for $456 or 178 and $416 at 180c. An­gus-cross vealer heifers sold for $621 at 197c. Milk calves from Nanango sold for $473 at 198c.

The few cows and calves penned sold to a top of $950.
