Prices lower at Murgon
THE market for the 500 head yarded at Murgon on Tuesday was slightly easier than the previous week.
Cattle were consigned from Eidsvold, Mundubbera, Mt Perry, Gayndah, Ban Ban Springs, Kingaroy, Nanango and locally.
Grain-assisted steers weighing 355kg from MK Cattle, Murgon, sold for 192c/ kg to return $1009 and 211c for $741 while 317kg grain assisted heifers from Goodger sold for $603 or 190c.
Brahman steers weighing 412kg sold for 188c to return $776 for the vendor.
Four-tooth drought-master-cross heifers from Stonelands sold for $807 or 163c while 500kg santa-cross heifers, also four-tooth sold for $802 at 158c.
The best of the cows sold to $937 at 144c with Charbray cows from Gayndah selling for $790 or 142c.
Cows in the 450 to 500kg range sold mainly from 135c–140c.
Brangus steers weighing 500kg from Murgon sold to feedlot operators for $899 or 177c.
