Town teams battle
DESPITE winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Stingers allowed Colts to take to the crease first in the Central Burnett cricket competition because they had team members missing at the start of play. Stingers wondered if they had made the right decision when Colts scored 245 runs off 34 overs.
Colts’ batsmenHayden Ryan, who scored 111, and Leo Brown (73) were responsi- ble for the team’s respectable score.
Best bowlers for Stingers were Wayne Pashley (3/14 off six overs) and Brad Sutcliffe (3/25 off five overs).
Sutcliffe was the mainstay of the Stingers’ batting, scoring 90 runs. He also bowled effectively.
Wayne Pashley and Troy Voss also batted well, each adding 33 runs to the team’s score.
After only losing five wickets in 33 overs, Stingers emerged victorious in the battle of the two Mundubbera teams in the competition.
MATCH BEST: It was an impressive battle between the two Mundubbera teams at the weekend. Hayden Ryan scored 111 runs for Colts, Leo Brown added another 73 to the Colts’ total and Brad Sutcliffe was Stingers’ best on 90 runs and 3/25 off five overs.
