DE­SPITE win­ning the toss and elect­ing to bowl first, Stingers al­lowed Colts to take to the crease first in the Cen­tral Bur­nett cricket com­pe­ti­tion be­cause they had team mem­bers miss­ing at the start of play. Stingers won­dered if they had made the right de­ci­sion when Colts scored 245 runs off 34 overs.

Colts’ bats­menHay­den Ryan, who scored 111, and Leo Brown (73) were re­sponsi- ble for the team’s re­spectable score.

Best bowlers for Stingers were Wayne Pash­ley (3/14 off six overs) and Brad Sut­cliffe (3/25 off five overs).

Sut­cliffe was the main­stay of the Stingers’ bat­ting, scor­ing 90 runs. He also bowled ef­fec­tively.

Wayne Pash­ley and Troy Voss also bat­ted well, each adding 33 runs to the team’s score.

Af­ter only los­ing five wick­ets in 33 overs, Stingers emerged victorious in the bat­tle of the two Mun­dub­bera teams in the com­pe­ti­tion.

MATCH BEST: It was an im­pres­sive bat­tle be­tween the two Mun­dub­bera teams at the week­end. Hay­den Ryan scored 111 runs for Colts, Leo Brown added an­other 73 to the Colts’ to­tal and Brad Sut­cliffe was Stingers’ best on 90 runs and 3/25 off five overs.
