GUNTHER Village residents were busy baking up treats to give to visitors as part of the Elsebach Place open day.

Evelyn Hebbard, Dorris Davis and Hedley Moon prepared for the visitors by making chocolate chip cookies with lifestyle co-ordinator Jenni Thompson last Saturday.

The bakers were kept busy preparing for more than 50 guests who were anticipated to visit the village.

Executive manager of the Central and Upper Burnett District Home for the Aged Chantele Nelson said the open day offered people a chance to see Gunther Village and meet the staff.

“It allows members of the community to come in and be informed of the services we provide,” she said.

“Gunther Village offers a cost-effective way of living for seniors in Gayndah where there is limited accommodation available.”

The village will also host a market day on Sunday.
