Handmade and heartfelt
Travellers knit and crochet special gifts for aged care clients
BIGGENDEN Lions Club Aged Care clients were overwhelmed when they each received a knitted or crocheted rug at their Christmas party.
They were treated to a party at the Grand Hotel where they were presented with a large box of biscuits before this surprise gift.
The gifts were courtesy of members of the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia. These members support communities they visit by knitting or crocheting rugs, beanies and scan bags for nursing homes, hospitals and oncology centres.
Reading a letter from the group, aged care co-ordinator Eleanor Liston said it was a pleasure to be able to donate items.
“They have been made with love and sincerity for your clients,” she said.
