TALKING TOWNSHIPS

Central and North Burnett Times - - OPINION -

CHRISTMAS is almost upon us. The countdown has started.

Gayndah businesses are gearing up for the big shopping finale – the Gayndah Christmas Carnival, which will be held on Friday, December 21.

There will be rides and slides and dancing in the street for the littlies, entertainment on stage, the ambulance ham wheel, local raffles will be drawn, the winner of the GDA Courtesy Award announced, Christmas lights winners announced, and of course – a visit by Santa.

The Gayndah Chamber will be selling tickets in a raffle with prizes donated from the businesses in town.

If your business would like to be involved, drop your contribution to Michelle at LJ Hooker this week so it can be included in the prize.

The Gayndah Chamber committee has welcomed some new, fresh, young members who are keen and enthusiastic and are working to ensure our Christmas Carnival has all the ingredients for a fantastic, funfilled family night.

As you start (or finish) your Christmas shopping, take time to browse the local stores carefully before you head online or out of town.

If you can’t find what you want in the local stores, ask the store owner if they are able to get the item you are after in stock for you.

There is so much to choose from right here in town.

Shopping locally will ensure local businesses are here supporting our town and providing services and fun nights like the Christmas Carnival.

The next meeting of the Gayndah Chamber of Commerce will be held at the Grand Hotel on Tuesday, December 11, at 5.30pm. Jo Dowling President
