A SMALL group of inspiring girls is making a difference to the lives of people in the Mundubbera community and having fun at the same time.

Every Friday afternoon after school the girls gather at theNew Life Centre supper rooms to engage in craft activities, discuss and implement community help projects and decide on fundraising activities.

“At the moment the girls are putting together gifts for the elderly at the hospital,” group organiser and youth worker Bonnie Trevanion said.

“Both motels in town donated little soaps, shampoos and conditioners so the girls made thankyou cards for them.

“When the gifts are wrapped we’ll visit the Coonambula Lodge residents who always appreciate having someone to talk to.”

This Inspired Young Women’s Group has set its sights on rais- ing enough money for an overnight stay at Cania Gorge.

To raise funds they have washed cars and dogs, mowed lawns, gardened and made and sold cakes.

The girls are also having a stall at Christmas in the Park.

A percentage of their fundraising goes to charity.
