GUARDIAN Pharmacies at Gayndah and Mundubbera has a new tool to educate customers about diabetes.

The Healthpoint Health Hub gives health assessments and education on type 2 diabetes, as well as a wide range of other health issues.

According to the Queensland chief health officer, Dr Jeannette Young, the number of Queenslanders living with diabetes is projected to double in the next three decades.

The Healthpoint Health Hub can assist in early detection, and proper management of diabetes.

The 11-question analysis for type 2 diabetes determines how at risk you are based on lifestyle and family history.

Further information can be read in store, printed and taken home, or emailed for later viewing.

Pharmacist Graham Rowles said the analysis was being used as a coaching tool.

“We use it to explain disease management and other health is- sues,” he said.

The information allows patients to fully comprehend what they need to do to reduce their risk of disease, or properly manage a condition.

The Health Hub can help diabetics learn about the disease.
