Christmas cheer at Gunther Village

MARKET day at Gunther Village had plenty of Christmas cheer.

The village was festively decorated for the indoor markets last Sunday morning.

Local businesses set up stalls inside the complex, allowing residents to browse and shop in airconditioned comfort.

Executive manager of the Central and Upper Burnett District Home for the Aged Chantele Nelson said the market was about “bringing the shopping to the village”.

“It allows our residents to still actively participate in day-to-day activities,” she said.

Residents wisely got a bit of early shopping organised before the mad rush for last-minute Christmas gifts takes hold of the town.

A musician kept everyone entertained with Christmas songs.

And Gunther Village’s famous Thai food kept all the shoppers well fed.
