After breaking several records at the Biggenden district competition, he travelled to Mundubbera to compete in the North Burnett Zone carnival.

And the 10-year-old broke a record that had been held for 31 years when he swama time of 34.54 in his freestyle event.

The previous record of 36.10 was set in 1981 by C Stafford.

In backstroke he broke R Bernie’s 2000 record and set the new time to beat at 43.51.

Another swimmer who performed well at the zone carnival was Jacy Kirdy of Mundubbera who was recently selected as a reserve in the Wide Bay breaststroke medley relay team.
