Central and North Burnett Times - - LOCAL SPORT -

MUNDUBBERA Touch Association’s 2012 summer season has ended with two hotly-contested finals.

In the B-grade final between Stubble Foxes and Mitre 10, the Mitre 10 team, which struggled to attract a full contingent of players all season, put a strong team together and proved the better side, winning 4–2.

It was a close game with the half-time score carrying through to full-time.

The A-grade final saw Notorious and IGA Scrubbers take to the field.

Notorious were unbeatable all season and continued the trend in the final, which they won 10-6.

Cassius Collins led a welldrilled team full of talented Eids- vold youngsters who obviously have a passion for touch.

IGA Scrubbers have also struggled with numbers all season, but the players who did turn up were well skilled and played to the end.

It was a hard-fought and entertaining game with both sides giving a great display of skill.

Player of the 2012 summerseason final was Jemma Collins, best and fairest male – Cassius Collins, best and fairest female –Marcia Bell (Missy), best and fairest junior – Tyler West and best and fairest senior – Mark Trott.

Mundubbera Touch Association has successfully registered for the State Government’s Get Started funding initiative aimed at getting juniors aged from five to 18-years-old involved in sport.
