Festivities flying high
CHRISTMAS spirit is flying high in Gayndah. The community turned up to support St Matthew’s Anglican Church at last Friday’s Christmas fete and again on Sunday for Carols by Candlelight.
The ham wheel was the fete’s main attraction, with eager locals looking to add to their Christmas lunch stockpiles with one of the many large hams being raffled.
Gayndah’s churches joined together to host the evening of carols at Lions Park. A fresh breeze posed some trouble for the microphones, but kept the large crowd cool after a hot day in North Burnett.
Families lined the park and waved safe candles as they were led in song.
