MONTO Historical and Cultural Centre is set to join forces with a similar organisation in the North Burnett to showcase selected historical objects of towns in the region.

Museum development officer for the Queensland Museum, Lydia Egunnike, said Monto had a very good space for its exhibits and enjoyed the support of a committed group.

“This is a collaborative effort within the North Burnett with museums and cul- tural centres working together rather than competing, therefore they are better able to attract funding,” Ms Egunnike said.

In March next year Monto will host the first exhibition of historical objects from five organisations across four towns – Eidsvold, Monto, MtPerry and Mundubbera – before visiting other towns in the region.

The program is funded through the Queensland Government’s Blueprint for the Bush initiative.
