SEE the wonders of the animal kingdom from around the world without leaving the country when you visit Darling Downs Zoo.

Located about half way between Toowoomba and Warwick in the town of Pilton on the Gatton-Clifton Rd, there is a comprehensive range of exotic animals and one of the best resourced zoos in regional Australia.

The latest addition is the arrival of two white lions from South Africa, which are the only breeding pair in Queensland, having produced one cub.

This is extremely important as no white lions have been seen in the wild since 1994.

Why not try the zoo’s Big Cat Encounter, at $50 per person adult or child, a specially trained keeper will accompany you behind the scenes to feed some of the lions and tigers through special apertures in their enclosure.

It is the thrill of a lifetime and absolutely safe and you will also learn about these beautiful animals.

A day at the zoo is a great way to bring the family together.

The zoo is open every day 9am–3pm except Christmas Day.

CUTE CUB: White lions are the highlight at Darling Downs Zoo.
