Nail-biter to Grasscutters
Awards handed out to celebrate end of touch season for 2012
SCORES were tied at full time in a tense touch football grand final.
The A-grade game between Grasscutters and Shockwaves went to a drop off to decide bragging rights for the summer season.
And the Gayndah Touch Football championship went to the Grasscutters, winning 5-4.
The player of the final was Ciaren Dougherty.
In the juniors competition the Red and Green teams were the top two teams.
The Junior Reds built an unassailable 8-3 lead and went on to win the grand final.
In the B-grade grand final the Gayndah Jewellers defeated Stop N Go 8-5.
B-grade player of the final was James Duncan.
In the C-grade final Riverbend won after Toolies forfeited the game.
Aceremony after the games saw Annika Darlington awarded best and fairest under-20 female, and Matt Schiffke the best and fairest U20 male.
Best and fairest female was Kerri Goodwin and best and fairest male was David Shepherd.
The awards for most tries for the season went to Tim Zahl for the men and Bec Kenny for the women.
