GAYNDAH’S impressive batting set Mundubbera Stingers a total that proved unattainable in their match at Martin Love Oval in Mundubbera last weekend.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Gayndah’s batsmen produced 423 runs in their 40 overs with the loss of seven wickets.

Lance Baker top-scored with 142 and Dave Shepperd also impressed spectators with his score of 101.

Best bowlers for Stingers were Cameron Brauer with figures of three for 55 off eight overs and Ross Schulte, who took two for 77, also off eight overs.

Being one player short was a disadvantage for Stingers, who were all out for 353.

Brad Sutcliffe showed his previous success with the bat was no fluke when he added 143 runs for his team.

Callum Shute also batted well for his score of 48.

Gayndah bowlers shared the wicket, and both teams are looking forward to their next encounter.
