Brandon makes maths count

Central and North Burnett Times - - SCHOOL NEWS -

EACH year since Year 6, Brandon Schulte has entered the University of NSW Mathematics competition.

And each year he has achieved a distinction.

This year was no different. The result placed the Mundubbera State School student in the top 2% in Queensland.

The 60-minute test covers all areas of mathematics.

While enjoying maths generally, Brandon’s favourite is algebra, which he finds challenging.

“The last five questions were really hard. They were nothing like the rest of the test,” Brandon said.

Other students who participated in the contest – Caitlin Wagner, Brianna and Sam Whitaker, Channah Lederhose, Sophie Zipf and Kiana Watt – also achieved impressive results.
