Busy posting Christmas cheer

Central and North Burnett Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

IT IS easy to get caught up in the excitement of the season.

But spare a thought for those who are making it all happen behind the scenes.

The post office at Monto has been inundated with Christmas packages.

Both in delivery and receipt of mail, the post office team says the busiest time for the centre is between 9am and noon.

Employee Merryn King said the post office had been “swamped” for Christmas.

But the team is still managing to maintain a smile and a positive outlook, despite the increase in patrons.

“We are coping with the influx but it is nothing a bottle of wine or box of chocolates can’t fix, after hours of course,” Ms King said.

“It will be nice to get through the rush and experience the true spirit of Christmas.”

The team at Monto Post Office will be taking a well-earned day off on Christmas Day.
