Christ­mas car­ni­val to light up Gayn­dah

SANTA Claus is coming to town. Gayn­dah’s Christ­mas Car­ni­val on Fri­day night will host Santa and his helper, Blazer the Bear.

Start­ing at 6pm the main street will be filled with rides, games, mar­ket stalls and a ham wheel.

Gayn­dah Cham­ber of Com­merce pres­i­dent Jo Dowl­ing said the evening would be a big street party. “It’s a great fam­ily night,” she said. “The busi­nesses are look­ing for­ward to giv­ing some­thing back to the com­mu­nity.”

Mu­si­cal acts Ray Sav­age, Blake Gan­non, Dear Is­abel and Ebren­tia and AJ will keep the crowd en­ter­tained on the main stage.

And a chil­dren’s dance off com­pe­ti­tion will take place with prizes to be won for the best moves.

There will also be pho­tos with Santa for the chil­dren.

The Gayn­dah Devel­op­ment As­so­ci­a­tion’s courtesy award will be an­nounced, as will the Christ­mas lights win­ner.

The Cham­ber of Com­merce Christ­mas raf­fle will be drawn on the night, with three mas­sive prizes to be won.
