GAYN­DAH In­door Bowls en­joyed a Christ­mas party and a fun bowls night. Joan Klaasen and Rene Tay­lor won mat 1 with a score of 24, Pat Fester won mat 2 with a score of 6, Al­lan Bramer and Beryl Palmer won mat 3 with a score of 53, Gra­ham Stark and Maria Hunt­won mat 4with a score of 9, mat 5 was a tie with the team of Gra­ham Stark and Maria Hunt scor­ing 6 and Leo Tete­cech and John Stott also scor­ing 6. The last bowls night for the year is tonight. Ev­ery­one wel­come for bowls and sup­per.

JOHN Mor­gan won Tues­day’s veter­ans com­pe­ti­tion with a score of 25 points and Rob Kirk the run­ner up on 23. Ladies win­ner was Di Baker with 24 and Jan Bourkie the run­ner up with 20. Pin shots; 1 Di Baker, 5 Bev Em­mer­ton, 7 Jim Ed­wards. Thurs­day Sporters event at­tracted 28 play­ers. Mick Coul­son won the com­pe­ti­tion with 31 points, nar­rowly ahead of Jeremy Zahl and Lee Ed­wards on 30 points. Pin shots; 3 Bev Em­mer­ton, 5 Mick Coul­son, 7 Jeremy Zahl. Zahl also had the least putts on the day. The Week­end com­pe­ti­tion was won by Ray Wil­lis with 61 1/2 nett. John Mul­laly was first run­ner up with 62 1/2 nett and Di Baker was sec­ond run­ner up with 63 nett. Pin shots; 3 Lindsay Baker, 5 Lee Ed­wards, 7 Lindsay Baker. The next event will by a nine hole Sum­mer Com­pe­ti­tion on De­cem­ber 22, tee off at 3pm.

BIGGEN­DEN Ri­fle Club Christ­mas shoot in­volved a pre­sen­ta­tion to the club’s former cap­tain Ray Cook. North Bur­nett Re­gional Coun­cil Mayor Don Waugh pre­sented Cook with a shield and cer­tifi­cate of ap­pre­ci­a­tion for 63 years ser­vice and mem­ber­ship of the Biggen­den Ri­fle Club. A 15 shot match at 600 yards was held. Re­sults: Full bore, Rod Prayle (Mary­bor­ough) 73.8, Peter Raf­fles (Biggen­den) 55.2.Scope, Noel Porter (Monto) 82.4, Greg Gart­ner (Mary­bor­ough) 80.2, Ray Wat­son (Biggen­den) 80.1,,Al­lan Bishop (Mary- bor­ough) 78.1, Cameron David­son (Mary­bor­ough) 79, Har­ley Ber­rie (Biggen­den) 68.0, Jeff Geissler (Biggen­den) 76.2.
