GAYNDAH Indoor Bowls enjoyed a Christmas party and a fun bowls night. Joan Klaasen and Rene Taylor won mat 1 with a score of 24, Pat Fester won mat 2 with a score of 6, Allan Bramer and Beryl Palmer won mat 3 with a score of 53, Graham Stark and Maria Huntwon mat 4with a score of 9, mat 5 was a tie with the team of Graham Stark and Maria Hunt scoring 6 and Leo Tetecech and John Stott also scoring 6. The last bowls night for the year is tonight. Everyone welcome for bowls and supper.
JOHN Morgan won Tuesday’s veterans competition with a score of 25 points and Rob Kirk the runner up on 23. Ladies winner was Di Baker with 24 and Jan Bourkie the runner up with 20. Pin shots; 1 Di Baker, 5 Bev Emmerton, 7 Jim Edwards. Thursday Sporters event attracted 28 players. Mick Coulson won the competition with 31 points, narrowly ahead of Jeremy Zahl and Lee Edwards on 30 points. Pin shots; 3 Bev Emmerton, 5 Mick Coulson, 7 Jeremy Zahl. Zahl also had the least putts on the day. The Weekend competition was won by Ray Willis with 61 1/2 nett. John Mullaly was first runner up with 62 1/2 nett and Di Baker was second runner up with 63 nett. Pin shots; 3 Lindsay Baker, 5 Lee Edwards, 7 Lindsay Baker. The next event will by a nine hole Summer Competition on December 22, tee off at 3pm.

BIGGENDEN Rifle Club Christmas shoot involved a presentation to the club’s former captain Ray Cook. North Burnett Regional Council Mayor Don Waugh presented Cook with a shield and certificate of appreciation for 63 years service and membership of the Biggenden Rifle Club. A 15 shot match at 600 yards was held.
