Stingers hit Colts for 70-run vic­tory

THE two Mun­dub­bera teams faced each other and the in­tense heat in the fi­nal game of the Mun­dub­bera/Gayn­dah 2012 cricket com­pe­ti­tion.

Stingers’ Ross Schulte opened bat­ting for his team and may have been re­lieved when he got out on 35 and was able to re­turn to the shade.

Troy Voss was the best Stingers’ bats­man of the day, fin­ish­ing with a score of 71 not out.

Simon Page also bat­ted well, scor­ing 33.

The best bowler for Colts was Brad Ward, who took five for 51 off eight overs.

At the end of the al­lot­ted overs, Stingers were eight for 286.

Shan­non Stein­hardt was the most im­pres­sive of the Colts’ bats­men with a score of 51.

Stingers’ Ryan Trott took four for 55 off eight overs.

The match ended when Colts were all out for 216, giv­ing Stingers vic­tory by 70 runs.
