Burnett bowler on roll and set to take on Kiwis
TAHLEAH Putney will take on a New Zealand team as a Queensland representative this weekend.
The Gayndah lawn bowls star has been selected to play in the High Performance Test Series at Musgrave Hill on the Gold Coast.
The 14-year-old was one of six women chosen to represent Queensland in the under-18 division.
Queensland will take on the Auckland Regional Youth Squad from December 20-22.
Last year the Queensland U18 team won and Putney will be trying to keep the title on Australian shores once more.
Taleah’s mother Robyn said the selection came after “Bowls Queensland watched her progress over the whole year”.
Recently sponsored on a two-year contract by equipment manufacturer Edge, next year will be Putney’s second consecutive selection in the prestigious U18 Queensland squad.
She hones her skills on the greens at Gayndah Bowls Club.
STATE SELECTION: Taleah Putney will play for Queensland against the Auckland regional team.
