Young cricketer battles the heat
BIGGENDEN’S Aaron Kelly was a member of the Wide Bay Under-13 boys’ cricket team.
And the team finished runnersup in the recent state carnival in Charters Towers.
Playing in 40+ degree heat each day in 100-over matches, Wide Bay scored three wins and two losses.
But Aaron’s mum, Andrea, said the team “really shouldn’t have lost at all”.
Although Kelly may not have starred with the bat, he played his part by fielding well, bowling economically and wicketkeeping, making four stumpings and four run outs.
RIGHT, GREAT CARNIVAL: Biggenden's Aaron Kelly was a member of the Wide Bay team to be runners-up in the state carnival at Charters Towers.
