CRICK­ETER Ciaran Dougherty has put on a master class per­for­mance at the State Cham­pi­onships.

Dougherty played in the Wide Bay Un­der-14 team at the Queens­land State Cham­pi­onships on the Gold Coast in De- cem­ber.

Open­ing the bat­ting against Sun­shine Coast, Dougherty piled on the runs on his way to a score of 92.

His ex­cel­lent in­nings was the sec­ond high­est of the tour­na­ment.

Wide Bay played five one-day games of 55 overs per side.

The boys won against the Sun­shine Coast and were cruis­ing to an­other vic­tory against North Queens­land un­til rain in­ter­rupted play.

The team lost to Far North, Cen­tral Queens­land and Met­ro­pol­i­tan South West.

Dougherty av­er­aged 27 runs in the tour­na­ment.

The Gold Coast team took out the State Cham­pi­onship, which was com­peted be­tween 12 teams.
