High fire danger limits local burns
THE North Burnett is facing a high to very high fire danger in the coming weeks.
And the situation will worsen if there is no decent rainfall.
Acting area director of Rural Operations for Bundaberg Craig Magic urged people to be cautious.
He said different vegetation in the area meant it was not a similar situation to southern states, but people should be vigilant.
“There is a permanent fire restriction until substantial rain arrives,” he said.
“But if people need to burn they have to talk to their local fire warden.” If you see a fire, phone 000. To contact a fire warden in your area visit ruralfire.qld.gov.au.
