CRAIG Egan is looking forward to his next great adventure as Director of Nursing at Cooktown Multi-purpose Health Service.
After three-and-a-half years at Biggenden as its DON, he has packed up and, with his faithful companion Pete the dog, is heading north.
Mr Egan said he was looking forward to the next progression in his career.
“Cookto wnis a bigger hospital with 30 beds including residential care,” he said.
“I will be overseeing other services so I will have more to do.
“My time at Biggenden has been enjoyable. I did face some challenges with the biggest being the building of the new multi-purpose health complex.”
But Mr Egan said he was “quite happy” with how things turned out in the town.
“One of the highlights of my time in Biggenden was successfully passing accreditation for the former hospital as well as the new complex,” he said.
“Hopefully I have left Biggenden with a better health service than when I started.”
And he was full of praise for the staff.
“They have been a good team and work well together,” he said.
Mr Egan said he was looking forward to a two-week holiday before starting his new job.
