Learn business resilience
NORTH Burnett Region Futures (NBRF) prioritises fostering partnerships with local, state and federal government organisations and businesses to help co-ordinate economic and workforce development initiatives.
An ongoing priority is a recognition that the flow-on effects of the 2011 disaster will continue to affect businesses and community organisations in the North Burnett.
In partnership with the North Burnett Regional Council, a second suite of the 7 Resilience Strategies to Maximise Business workshops will be facilitated in Mundubbera and Biggenden in February 2013.
Running for five weeks, the workshops are designed and contextualised to introduce to businesses and community organisations, seven strategies to combat the ongoing effects of the floods and economic downturn and, importantly, build resilience to continue to provide their essential services to the region.
The Mundubbera workshops will be held at the Mundubbera Bowls Club from 6pm–8.30pm on Mondays, February 11, 18, 25 and March 4 and 11.
The Biggenden workshops will be at the Commercial Hotel from 6pm–8.30pm on Tuesdays, February 12, 19, 26 and March 5 and 12.
Created and presented by regional facilitator Trudi Barlett, director of Transforming Small Business (from Headache to Heaven), the hands-on practical workshops are free.
They will equip participants with the confidence to improve their customer service standards, increase their turnover, better manage their teams and themselves, set up effective business processes, implement marketing strategies that are cost-effective and be resilient through these tough economic times.
The workshops have been made possible through funding provided under the Community Development and Recovery Package, which is a tripartite initiative of the Australian and Queensland Governments under the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements, the North Burnett Regional Council and the Burnett Inland Economic Development Organisation.
