Ordering a Load of Water for Drinking

Central and North Burnett Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

Before ordering a load of water for domestic supply check that the water carrier is licensed with the Council prior to ordering. All water carriers supplying water for domestic use must obtain water from an approved source such as Council which supplies water from a treated water supply. The tank on the vehicle must not be used for any other purpose so that water is not contaminated. The tank should be clearly marked with “Drinking Water Only.” Before the load of water arrives clean out any sediment in the tank as this will be stirred up when the tank is refilled and may add an unpleasant taste or odour to the water. If your water develops an unpleasant taste allow the water to settle for 24-48 hours before use. For further assistance contact the Environmental Health section of the Council on 1300 696 272.
