THE Cydectin range continues to be the best choice for parasite control, Prudence Barwick of Virbac said, adding Cydectin products were based on the active ingredient moxidectin.

“Moxidectin is a member of the Macrocyclic Lactone family, which has a broad range of activity against internal and external parasites,” she said.

“Moxidectin stands out as the leader of the ML family, due to its potency, persistency and safety, allowing a range of Cydectin products that offer flexibility for parasite control in livestock.”

She said the moxidectin in Cydectin had a different chemical structure to other MLs on the market (avermectins), which allowed increased storage in fat tissues and slower removal from the animal, giving it greater potency and persistency.
