Reliable livestock carting

Central and North Burnett Times - - FEATURE -

IF YOU require a reliable transport company to get your livestock to market, H. Dowling and Sons at Biggenden can cover all your needs.

Due to the expansion of its trucking business, the fleet includes body trucks through to B-doubles.

They can cart whatever you need, from a single beast to 120 head.

Regardless of where you travel in Queensland, you often see the familiar red and white colour scheme of Dowling’s trucks.

Manager Geoff Dowling said primary producers were dependent on the road transport system because they could no longer use rail.

While the bulk of cattle for the Bigenden sale will come from Gin Gin, Miriam Vale, Mundubbera, Eidsvold, Mt Perry, Maryborough, Hervey Bay and Gympie, the trucks travel as far as Normanton, Nebo and into northern New SouthWales.

Mr Dowling was full of praise for the facilities at the Biggenden saleyards.

“The double decker yards make unloading a lot easier, while the upgrading of the yards makes for a bigger volume of cattle,” he said.

“The Whitakers are great people to work with.”
