MUNDUBBERA junior sportsman Dawson Cross excels at tennis, swimming, athletics, softball and touch football.

But rugby league is his passion.

In 2012, Cross received the Central Burnett Brumbies best and fairest forward award, as well as the South Burnett under-13 representative player of the year and the South Burnett U13/14 junior Eagle player of the year awards.

He was the Mundubbera rugby league football club’s best point-scorer.

And he was awarded the trophy for best achievement in rugby league.

To cap off a successful season, Cross was announced as a member of the Central Queensland NRL bid development squad.

Cross was also announced as a member of the U14 Northern Broncos Development Team.

Cr Faye Whelan said Cross showed commitment and dedication to his sport.

“It also shows, if you have the skills and drive, it is possible to get noticed when trying out for representative teams,” Cr Whelan said.

“Even if you do live in a rural area.”
