Please explain rates increase

Central and North Burnett Times - - OPINION -

RATES are due again and again I am asking why the large increase since amalgamation.

We were assured there would be no increase when this occurred and no change in services.

My rates have increased over $900 yearly with what improvement?

The rates are equivalent to living in Hervey Bay, Maryborough or Bundaberg.

How many more white collar staff have been employed since amalgamation?

How many ground staff have not been replaced?

Why is the water in Biggenden still undrinkable?

Why can’t ratepayers have vouchers for taking their rubbish to the dumps?

This is a service we already pay for in our rates.

Could the chief executive officer please answer these questions on behalf of the ratepayers who employ him. Veronica Andrews
