Teens can help out too you know

Central and North Burnett Times - - OPINION -

NEXT time you hear a teenager say they’re bored suggest they spend the day or weekend working with BlazeAid volunteers.

For almost three months elderly people have been assisting farmers in our region, trying to get them and our communities back on their feet.

BlazeAid is not just a volunteer organisation for grey nomads.

Volunteers can be as young as 12, but there has been only one local teenager registered in all this time at the Mundubbera camp, which is looking after farmers in the Eidsvold, Mundubbera and Gayndah areas.

Last weekend 20 volunteers from Samford Community Church bolstered BlazeAid numbers, but again there were no teenagers.

If you’re 12-years-old or older andwould like to make a positive difference in the lives of others, give BlazeAid a call on 0447 252 931.
